The screen of the Eastron energy meter does not light up

Possible causes:

  • The power is not turned on.
  • The energy meter connection has contact errors or is incorrect.

Possible causes:

  • Turn on the power supply.
  • Check the wiring of the energy meter.
  • Check that the L3 and N of the energy meter are receiving power.

The LED of the +24V power supply does not light up

Possible causes:

  • The power is not turned on.
  • The power supply is not connected properly or it has contact errors.

Possible solutions:

  • Turn on the power supply.
  • Check the wiring of the power supply.

The green Power LED of the C04 is turned off

Possible causes:

  • The power is not turned on.
  • The power supply is connected improperly or it has contact errors.

Possible solutions:

  • Turn on the power supply.
  • Check the C04's wiring.
  • Check that the power connector of the C04 is fully inserted.

The green Power LED of the C04 appears, but the Status LED remains off

Possible causes:

  • There is a problem with the C04.

Possible solutions:

  • Reset the device. See “Resetting the C04” in this manual.

The Status LED of the C04 remains red

Possible causes:

  • There is a reception problem.
  • There is a problem with the SIM card.
  • There is a problem with the C04.

Possible solutions:

  • Ensure correct positioning of the antenna with respect to cell phone masts and nearby structures.
  • Make sure the antenna is connected correctly. Is the antenna cable marked 'LTE' connected to the 'LPWAN' connector of the C04?
  • Check the SIM card
    • Turn off the power and open the measurement solution cabinet.
    • Disconnect all wiring from the C04.
    • Using a small flathead screwdriver, detach the unit from the DIN rail and remove the unit from the cabinet.
    • Using a small flathead screwdriver, press lightly on the SIM card. It will spring up so you can pull it out. Carefully pull out the SIM card.
    • Remove any dirt or grease from the contact points on the SIM card. Use Isopropanol if necessary.
    • Reinsert the SIM card using the same small screwdriver.
    • Replace and reconnect the unit according to “Connection of the C04” of this manual.
    • Screw the cabinet shut and turn on the power.
    • Wait for 5 minutes if the Status LED does now turn green.
  • Resetting the unit. See “Resetting the C04” in this manual.

The C04 is online in the portal but the current readings are missing

Possible causes:

  • There is a problem with the Modbus cabling between the C04 and the Eastron.
  • There is a Modbus settings problem on the Eastron or the C04.

Possible solutions:

  • Check the connections of the connectors of both devices.

On the C04, the connections on the connector are from left to right: A (+), B (-), GND.

  • Check the Eastron's Modbus settings.
  • Default settings in this application are:
    • Baud rate: 9600 bps
    • Parity bit: none
    • Stop bits: 1
    • Slave address: 1
  • Check the gateway settings or create a ticket if you do not have sufficient permissions to do so.

The C04 comes online in the portal but temperature values are missing

Possible causes:

  • There is a problem with the connection of the temperature sensor.

Please note that the essentials version does not have a temperature sensor.

Possible solutions:

Check the connections of the connector and verify that it is fully and properly inserted.

The C04 comes online in the portal but the value of the door contact does not change when opening/closing the door

Possible causes:

  • You don't have a Premium version of the smart site cabin.
  • The door contact sensor is incorrectly installed or defective.
  • There is a problem with the sensor connection.

Possible solutions:

  • If you do not have the Premium version with door monitoring, please create a ticket to update your subscription.
  • Using a voltage meter, measure between the “-” or GND of the +24V power supply and the oncoming connection of the door contact.
  • If the door is closed you should be measuring +24V here. If this is not the case, make sure the door contact is placed correctly.
  • Replace the door contact if necessary.
